How Would You Leica?
Black Design Associates have come up with a bold new idea that combines an iPhone with a Leica i9. The unique concept is a Leica case that turns the iPhone into a full-fledge camera.
Place the iPhone inside the “case,” and you get a ready-to-shoot camera with internal flash memory, a 12.1 megapixel sensor and 8x optical zoom. On the back side, you control it through the iPhone’s 3.5-inch retina display, which doesn’t at all sound like a bad way to operate a camera. Of course, the iPhone also brings some additional perks, such as the ability to quickly compress photos and videos and share them on your favorite social network.

The concept, still far from production, is an interesting one for merging camera phones with high-end cameras. I sincerely hope Leica decide to roll this out.

Innovative Twitter Campaign
When you think of all the companies that have successfully launched Twitter campaigns, it doesn't seem likely that a shave gel company would be among them. However Edge Shave Gel have executed one of the most creative campaigns by utilizing what many Twitter users already love to do: complain. By encouraging Twitter users share what they find #soirritating,
EdgeShaveZone are dedicated to alleviating their followers irritations. By creatively dolling out solutions, the Edge team has solved problems ranging from running out of cereal to replacements for expensive gadgets. While the team has given away expensive prizes like iPads and game tickets, sometimes the solution is as simple as a funny video to brighten the user's day.
The Edge Anti-irriation campaign is so successful as users willingly choose to interact with the brand. Many users find the EdgeShaveGel feed to be massively funny. For instance, when one woman tweeted that her husband refused to wear his hearing aids, EdgeShaveGel responded by sending her a megaphone. The woman then posted a Twitpic of her speaking to her husband through the megaphone. This engagement drew attention from other Twitter users who in turn became followers.
The Edge Anti-Irritation campaign has been running for around 3 months and has so far gained over 2,000 followers. I believe this number will grow exponentially as the campaign becomes viral.

Twitter Search Solves the Facebook Cartoon Profile Picture Mystery

This Saturday I saw something peculiar on Facebook. It appeared all my friends were turning into cartoon characters..
In an effort to understand what was going on I consulted my go to for finding out about real-time trends, Twitter Search. Simply by searching 'cartoon' I already got a sense of what was going on.
It seemed Facebook users were changing their profile picture to a photo of a favorite childhood cartoon to raise awareness of child abuse.

While some Twitter users believed this to be affiliated with NSPCC, the organization has not yet confirmed its involvement. This has lead some Facebook users to be skeptical of the campaign's effectiveness.
Regardless, the Childhood Cartoon Faces campaign is quickly catching on. What do you think about it? Will you be changing your profile picture to a favourite cartoon?
